BUTCH PICHAY, THE TROGLODYTE OF SURIGAO DEL SUR - Surigao Representative Prospero 'Butch' Pichay brags about becoming #1 senator in the 2007 elections. Then, his fellow cave-dwellers say the man will run and win for President in 2010.
But why not? Eddie Gil ran.
But there is a remarkable difference between Pichay and the other nuisance candidates. We are told that he has three airplanes he offers for charter.
He is said to own two helicopters. Maybe one for business and one for pleasure.
We are not in any position to tell anyone where Pichay got all that money to buy those aircrafts. But we are in a position to tell him to please pay back to a friend the PhP500,000 he received as down payment for a printing machine he represented to be of recent model, but which turned out to be as old as his so-called brain.
The machine was never used. Pay up Butch. It is a legitimate debt.
You see, before he became a congressman, Butch and Ruben Amurao were selling printing machines. And just like his boss, the official squatter of Malacanang, lies upon lies produce results. Junk.

'LIE-TOTING BUNYE' - Press Secretary Ignacio "Toting" Bunye has reportedly rejected all calls for him to relinquish his position due to his reprehensible conduct at the height of the Gloriagate controversy where, using the podium of the Malacanang briefing room, he shamelessly kept on mouthing an endless string of lies to his "captive media" that were intended to preserve the credibility of his patrons and their moral high ground as they tried to weather the storm of adverse public opinion which they had brought to themselves.
Well, no one can blame him for clinging on to his office like a shark's remora, despite being asked to submit his courtesy resignation last week by Mrs. Arroyo, because he has a slew of relatives in the employ of the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).
First off there is his first cousin Undersecretary Robert Rivera, the second most powerful man in the OPS, who absolutely knows nothing about the job thrust on his shoulders, which is disheartening to many of his subordinates who are career professionals. According to our sources in the News and Information Bureau (NIB), Rivera was an absolute nobody before he was tapped by Bunye to be his Man Friday in the OPS, with only one qualification that being a close relative of the Press Secretary.
Then there is this brother, said to be a Jueteng coddler during Bunye's nine-year reign as Muntinlupa mayor, and another cousin known to be lobbying for a juicy position at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), and her husband who allegedly each receive PhP25,000 a month from the OPS intelligence fund, which means this is not subject to audit procedures.
These past few weeks have really been trying times for the beleaguered Bunye, which has seen him transform overnight from one of the most docile-looking members of the Cabinet into one of the most detested and reviled simply because of being chosen to be under the glare of the Klieglights, acting as the mouthpiece of Mrs. Arroyo and Malacanang throughout the days of siege as their enemies were at the gates.
The newspapers have been quite harsh in their criticisms of Bunye (serves him right) during the course of carrying out his functions as the official liar of Mrs. Arroyo because he is supposed to have been a former newsman, and as such pained the editors that he would have the gall to lie and treat the reporters in the Malacanang Press Corps (MPC) with such disdain as if they were only born yesterday with his daily dosage to them of barefaced prevarications.

MIKEY'S MILLIONS, KATAS NG JUETENG? - New Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Chief Jose Mario Bunag (a GMA Cabalen?) now inherits the unpleasant job of reviewing the tax liabilities of uncle and nephew/ partners in crime Iggy and Mikey Arroyo.
A report from the House of Representatives charts Mikey Arroyo's assets from zero in 1992 when he entered government service as a Legislative Staff Assistant II in the Senate, leaping to PhP5,721,787 when he assumed the Vice-Governorship of Pampanga in 2001, and an astronomical leap just three years later to PhP74,436,538, including PhP20 million in cash in his first year as Congressman. This year (2005) it has gone up to PhP76,531,403 even if he has undervalued his new La Vista Subdivision mansion at only PhP8 million. Where did the PhP20 million cash come from? Katas ng Jueteng kaya??
If Bunag is to attain any credibility, and if GMA's tax reform program is to be believed, we dare Bunag to immediately file a tax evasion case against Rep. Mikey Arroyo, or at least assess him a PhP25 Million tax liability. Kaya ba ni Bunag? Takot lang niya!

FRANK DRILON, THE S.O.B. SENATOR - Quite recently, Senate President Franklin Drilon, concurrent Liberal Party big boss urged Gloria Arroyo to transfer Malacanang to his beloved Iloilo, in a fawning display of "affection" before his "hakot" kasimanwa.
Yesterday, he and his Liberal Party switched, in a sanctimonious display of political opportunism, calling for the resignation of his favorite Presidente de la Cebu. What a guy!

BUTCH PICHAY, THE VEGETABLE SOLON - Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero 'Butch' Pichay, the bogus president's hatchetman has come up with an interesting proposition. Pichay has promised to name opposition figures mentioned in the three-hour tapes who also called COMELEC Commissioner Virgilio ' Garci' Garcellano to cheat for them.
Pichay is in effect saying, both GMA and opposition candidates are equally guilty. So what Pichay is saying is since both sides are guilty, GMA must now be allowed to continue.
What logic! If both sides cheated, it strenghtens the argument that the May 2004 elections are void ab initio.
Pichay's revelation only serves to confirm that Virgilio Garcillano was indeed the mastermind of 'dagdag-bawas' and that GMA called him not simply to "protect her votes."
Talk more Butch, talk more. More talk, more mistake.

6.1 PERCENT GDP! REALLY?? - Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is shouting "Yahoo!" again because our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 6.1 percent in 2004. But Moody's rating service is asking a valid question -- why is GMA's government collecting only PhP700 billion in revenues from a PhP4.777 trillion economy? Again, the obvious answer: We have a grossly incompetent and a highly corrupt administration under Mrs. Arroyo (the 2nd most corrupt in the world!). The other question here is -- if it is really true that our GDP went up by 6.1 percent, then why did the BIR fall short in its tax collections? What say you, Makati Business Club?

GLORIA'S "YAHOO!", PINOYS' "BOO-HOO!" - Only in these 7,107 islands called The Philippines is there a Head of State who openly displays public her joy and exuberance by shouting "Yahoo!" over the passage of new tax measures imposing new burdens on her constituents, whose welfare she is mandated to protect. It would have been more appropriate for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to show some sympathy since the imposition of new taxes is viewed more as punishment, rather than a reward for taxpayers. Under normal conditions, those who add value to the economy are supposed to be rewarded and not punished. "Yahoo!" Gloria shouts. "Boo-Hoo!" cry the Filipino people.
